Founded in 1921, the <\/span>Netherland-America Foundation<\/a> (NAF)<\/span> is the leading bilateral foundation initiating and supporting high-impact exchange between the Netherlands and the United States, including the NAF-Fulbright Fellowships and programs in the arts, business, public policy and historic preservation. NAF activities provide donors and recipients with access to a broad network of educational, cultural and business organizations that exemplify Dutch and American excellence in a number of disciplines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Holland America Friendship Foundation<\/h4>\n

The Holland America Friendship Foundation<\/a> was established in 2004 for the purpose of further strengthening the friendly ties between the Netherlands and the United States of America through exchanges in the educational and cultural field. The HAFF has accomplished its goals through fundraising, primarily through the bi-annual gala dinner Night of the Stars. Thanks to the generous friends of the Night of the Stars, which include some 100 prominent companies and individuals, many young Dutch and Americans have been able to enjoy educational and cultural exchange programs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ivy Circle<\/h4>\n

The Ivy Circle<\/a>, founded in 2008, strives to create and sustain an active community in the Netherlands of alumni of leading North American universities and business schools. Ivy Circle member alumni clubs are encouraged to share their events with alumni of other member clubs, so that the Ivy Circle can develop and maintain an active calendar of alumni events. The Ivy Circle network has grown to 20 member alumni clubs representing a few thousand alumni living in the Netherlands.<\/span><\/p>\n

Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen<\/h4>\n

The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities<\/a> was established in 1752 by seven distinguished burghers of the city of Haarlem, in the then Republic of the United Provinces of the Netherlands, in order to promote science (in the broadest sense, including the \u2018arts\u2019). It is the oldest learned society in the country today and is constituted as a dual body comprising approximately 380 science promoters (known as directors) and about 480 scholars (known as members), drawn from the natural sciences, the humanities and the social sciences. Links with institutions outside the Netherlands are maintained – on a personal basis – by the appointment of foreign members, currently numbering about 40 persons. Thanks to its unusual structure, the Society can act as an effective meeting place for leading persons from within and outside academia. It is also in a unique position to provide independent judgement in many fields and does this by serving in the review process for a number of prestigious awards and fellowships. The awards and scholarships are financed by donations from companies, foundations, funds and societies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The John Adams Institute<\/h4>\n

The John Adams Institute<\/a> provides an independent podium for American culture in the Netherlands. It has brought the best and the brightest of American thinking from the fields of literature, politics, history, technology and the arts to the Netherlands for the past three decades. What happens in the US is of continuing relevance for the rest of the world, and it provides a window onto that.<\/p>\n
