Each year, three selection committees are formed to select the new Fulbright graduate student cohort. These selection committees are geared towards the following broadly defined fields: Humanities & Arts, Medical & Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences & Law. The Fulbright Commission will always ask at least one alum with knowledge of the field to take place in these committees. The selection process takes place in the period between the end of January and the middle of March each year. It consists of two selection rounds, a digital round and an interview round. For the digital round, the selection committee members read and assess all applications for their commission, and give their assessment to the Fulbright Commission. On the basis of these assessments, in the first half of March a selection interview is held with a number of the candidates.
